Executive Directors Message
I have received several calls asking how I know Julie Morrison (D-Deerfield) is going to run the FOID card bill (SB1966) in Veto Session. The answer does not require being much of a clairvoyant. She announced it in her newsletter. Morrison does not intend to stop there. She held a town hall meeting last week and talked about
confiscation of AR15s and other such firearms. We have her on video saying those very words. Check out YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bl37WhGdzDY. If the lame street media heard about the confiscation of anyone else’s property, there would have been headlines everywhere, but not for the property of gun owners who have done nothing
wrong; there wasn’t a peep.
Every week, I get emails claiming that if they only understood, it would be different! Ah, know it won’t. This is a battle to the finish and even the most naive gun owner needs to understand that fact. Gun owners in Illinois are finally finding their voices but they need to not only be shouting louder, they need to commit to action. Wherever these anti-gunners go, they should get no peace. When the anti-gunners have their meetings, they filter out as many people who might disagree with them as possible. Free speech for me but not for thee seems to be the order of the day. The Presidential Campaigns have already begun. President Trump kicked off his campaign last Tuesday. There are so many Democrat talking heads running for President that they have been compared to the Hydra from ancient mythology. The Hydra was a really nasty critter, it being a sea snake with many heads. Depending on which version you read, the Hydra had between 9 and 100 heads with each head defending the other heads. This vile beast had breath so foul that if a human got a whiff of it, they died instantly. If anyone got the Hydra’s blood on their clothing, they would be roasted alive inside their clothes. Any wound from the Hydra would fester and kill you in an agonizing death. If flies landed on the festering wound, they were killed instantly. The Hydra lived in a swamp near Argos, the Capitol (this sounds familiar) and ravaged the countryside, devouring everything and everyone in its path. The Hydra was known to be lazy and only came out when it was hungry or enraged. If one of the Hydra’s heads were cut off, two would grow back. The Hydra was a formidable enemy. Hercules was assigned to kill the Hydra but could not do it alone so his servant, Iolaus, helped him. They used a sickle and a torch. lolaus would cut off the head with the sickle and Hercules would cauterize the stump of the neck with the torch so no head could grow back. This was really a tough nasty job. If we were to make this into a modern play, the cast of characters would be Hercules, played by Donald Trump; Ioluas played by Mike Pence; Argos, played by Washington D.C; the Countryside would be the United States, and the Swamp, played by the Swamp. The Hydra would be played by all of the Democratic Presidential candidates. The 2019 Presidential Campaign, where mythology becomes reality.
