ISRA Action Alert - File witness slips NOW for SB1966 - Committee Hearing on Memorial Day.

In an earlier alert tonight, Sunday May 26, you were asked to expect an alert tomorrow morning, Memorial Day, May 27 concerning SB1966.
This is that alert. You may act on it as soon as you receive it, there is no need to wait until tomorrow. There are two additional amendments to this dangerous bill, House Floor Amendment 2, and House Floor Amendment 3. The House Judiciary - Criminal Committee Hearing is at 9:00 CDT tomorrow morning, Memorial Day, May 27 These actions are requested of you: 1. Fill out 2 witness slips, one opposing SB1966 HFA2, one more opposing HFA3, proven instructions follow below. This you can do now. 2. Call the Springfield offices of your state representative and state senator, and ask that they oppose SB1966. You will likely be leaving a message, if the machine is full, try again tomorrow, please. We know that not everyone will be able to do this, it's a holiday. But please make the effort for those who cannot, and for those we honor on Memorial Day. How To File Your Witness Slips to Oppose SB1966 HFA2 and HFA3: To file an electronic witness slip for this committee hearing you will use the section of the Illinois General Assembly website called "My ILGA" (my.ilga.gov). You may speed up the process for filing future witness slips if you set up a free ILGA Dashboard account by going here Create a New Account. You may file witness slips with or without that free account. If you have an ILGA Dashboard Account, then log on to your ILGA Dashboard [click the link, then find the login icon at the top right of the page], following that return to this email and continue below. Logged in or not, now you just click here for the HFA2 witness slip where you will fill in the information manually for the required fields: I. IDENTIFICATION: Enter your personal information. Enter "NA" for the Firm/Business or Agency and Title fields unless you are officially representing an organization. Important Caveat on the Personal Information: People are having difficulty in this section when they have entered extra spaces in the address field. Please do not end your address with a space. II. REPRESENTATION: Enter "Myself" unless representing an organization. III. POSITION: Indicate your position by selecting "HFA2", for the bill and by selecting the "OPPONENT" radio button for this bill: Timesaver shortcut: You can click the "Add Position" button for this slip, and it will show a new selection row. Select "HFA3", for the bill and select the "OPPONENT" radio button for this bill: IV. TESTIMONY: Select the "Record of Appearance Only" radio button., not written testimony. This way the committee can see a quick count showing the number of people expressing opposition to the bill. If filing manually, complete the Captcha challenge and agree to the ILGA Terms of Agreement. Then click Create Slip. If you used the shortcut in Step III, then you have created two witness slips. If you did not take the shortcut in Step III, then please now perform Steps I through IV for HFA3:
