What's driving you to IGOLD this year? What's going to make sure that you get there? Are you angry yet? Are you willing to take a stand by showing up to send a message? How many of us are losing our neighborhood gun shop this year? This is due to onerous legislation for an expensive duplicate license that is designed to run gun shops out of business and will do nothing about crime. Are you going yet? If you don't live in the collar counties or the Metro East area, where will you still be able to make firearm purchases, despite having to make two trips with a three day wait, after your "instant check?" Will you be forced to drive for hours to a Big City Big Box Store that just decided that they aren't going to sell firearms anymore, either? Is that enough to get you to IGOLD? What about that FOID in your wallet? You've been hearing the news, hearing about proposed actions and new legislation. Does that FOID seem less and less like an ID card that goes along with your constitutionally protected right, and more like a permission slip or a hall pass? Or worse? Are you going yet? Speaking of the FOID, have you ever needed help from the ISP with your FOID or your CCL, or your application? You are required by law to have these cards, and you can't get help from the ISP on the phone. No one answers your calls. Now are you going? What about that proposed legislation that will ban your popular semi-auto firearms, written and sponsored by legislators who have never touched a gun, but know how to shake the hands of nervous voters who also know nothing about firearms? This is legislation that would ban your firearms because of some perceived danger, a danger that would evaporate miraculously if you were to register your firearms for $25 each. Gun owners know of at least two places where registration has led to confiscation: Everywhere, and Everywhere Else. Registration is only delayed confiscation. Are you going to IGOLD? IGOLD is a reminder to our legislators that Illinois Gun Owners are watching. We're not going away. You need to be there. Whatever it takes to motivate you, whatever it takes to get you to Springfield, you need to be at IGOLD on March 27. Get to IGOLD on March 27. Check out ISRA's website at www.isra.org!
