IGOLD - Illinois Gun Owner Lobby Day - March 27, 2019
Update: IGOLD FAQ and Answers

If there was ever an IGOLD to attend, this is the one.  Be seen, be heard.

Get to IGOLD on March 27.

What you need to know for IGOLD:
  • What is IGOLD?
IGOLD is an annual event called Illinois Gun Owner Lobby Day.  The essence of the event is that you, the gun owner, are the lobbyist that day.  By doing so, you are lobbying for yourself, and therefore, also on behalf of the gun owners of Illinois.

  • Where and When is IGOLD?
On March 27, 2019, IGOLD starts at the Bank of Springfield Center (BOS Center), formerly known as the Prairie Capital Convention Center (PCCC).  The doors open at 10:30am, and the program begins at 11:45am, with guest speakers and instructions.  As you enter the BOS Center, there will be IGOLD packets, make sure that you take one.  Inside the are materials you need at the Capitol. There is a march to the Capitol at 1:00pm.  after a brief rally at the Lincoln Steps at the end of the march, we head inside in the Capitol.

  • What happens inside the Capitol?
Once inside the Capitol, you will locate and visit your legislators' offices.   If your state senator or state representative is there, they may visit with you.  They may not be present, and could be in session or committee hearing.   Your experience may vary.  At the least, you present your lobby cards to your legislator or their secretary.  In the capitol there is a cafeteria in the Stratton Building and restrooms throughout.  There will be a Rally At The Rotunda at 3:00 pm that will conclude IGOLD.

  • Can I carry at IGOLD?
The BOS Center is posted no-carry.  The march takes place under a permit, which by law means no-carry.  The State of Illinois Capitol and associated buildings are all no-carry under law.  You will go through a security checkpoint to enter the Capitol.  Please do not carry at IGOLD.

  • What do I wear?
Wear comfortable, casual clothing.  Dress up if that is your nature.  Many people will wear IGOLD hats and shirts, wear that if you have it, and some will be available at the BOS Center.  Consider the message you are sending if your clothing sends a message.  Do not send a threatening message on behalf of Illinois Gun Owners.

  • What do I bring?
Bring a pen, your cell phone.  Bring the names and district number of your Illinois Legislators.  Consider a disposable raincoat.

  • Where do I park?
There are numerous parking garages in Springfield, as well as on-street parking.  Consider a carpool with your friends, rent a van, or choose one of the remaining seats on a bus to IGOLD.  Search for parking garages with google:

  • Who are my Illinois Legislators?
Please know the names of your Illinois State Legislators before you come to Springfield.
Your congressman and your US Senators are not your Illinois State Legislators.
