Its Giving Tuesday! Help Protect Your Second Amendment Rights In Illinois

Dear Second Amendment Supporter,
The recent election for state office holders in Illinois did not fair well for law-abiding gun owners. Gov. Rauner, who has been our Second Amendment rights champion, was defeated by anti-gun J.B. Pritzker. We can expect Gov.-Elect Pritzker to push an anti-gun agenda that will probably include a ban on so called “Assault Weapons” and a ban on high capacity magazines. To make matters worse the General Assembly will see Democratic super-majorities in both the House and Senate. What is specifically troubling is the fact that these new members, especially from the suburbs, ran on an anti-gun platform. It only takes 60 votes in the House and 30 votes in the Senate to pass legislation. The Democrats in the House have a 74-44 majority and the Democrats in the Senate have a 40-18 majority to go along with Democrat Gov-Elect Pritzker. Three strikes against law-abiding gun owners. While the picture in Illinois looks bleak, there is hope. The Illinois State Rifle Association has been very successful defending our rights in the courts. When AG Madigan thought it was legal to release FOID Card data to criminals we took her to court and stopped her in her tracks by winning ISRA vs Illinois State Police in Peoria County Circuit Court. When Highland Park decided to ban Semi-Automatic weapons, the so called “Assault Weapons” ban, ISRA stepped up and filed suit. These are just two instances where the ISRA stepped up with legal action to protect your Second Amendment Rights. Today is Giving Tuesday. A day dedicated to charitable giving where good folks like you can step up to support various tax-exempt 501(C)(3) organizations. You can help protect your Second Amendment rights with a tax-exempt donation to the Illinois State Rifle Association Legal Assistance Committee (ISRA-LAC). Your donation will go a long way to ensuring we can fight the Anti-gun Politian’s when they over reach with their unjust laws that take away our Second Amendment rights. Thank you in advance, Richard Pearson, Executive Director Illinois State Rifle Association Donate To ISRA-LAC Note: The ISRA-LAC is an Illinois Not-For Profit Corporation which is a tax-exempt organization qualified under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
