ISRA Needs Your Help in Hancock County

Letterhead
Dear Hancock County Member,

The Hancock County Board will discuss a non-binding 2nd Amendment Sanctuary County Resolution at the board meeting tomorrow night (8/21/2018) at 6:30 PM.  The ISRA understands that the board is generally in favor of passing this resolution, but one board member is attempting to derail this important vote.  We also understand that the Hancock County Sheriff has concerns about his ability to enforce the law if such a resolution were to pass.  We are asking all of our members in Hancock County to attend this board meeting if possible and to speak up in support of your 2nd Amendment Rights by encouraging the county board to pass this Resolution.

We have compiled a list of points below to help you communicate to the board that you support your 2nd Amendment rights.  Just like the ordinary citizens who stood with their fellow Americans to fight the Redcoats, please stand up to those who seek to disarm law-abiding Americans.

The board meeting will be Tuesday August 21st at 6:30 PM on the 3rd floor of the Hancock County Courthouse.  The East Courthouse door will be open.

The purposes of a non-binding Sanctuary County Resolution:
  • To make your county's voice heard in Springfield regarding gun owners’ rights.
  • This is a protest against the high handed Chicago anti-gun movement.
  • It is the county board’s duty to represent the people in their county.
  • This is the most meaningful action that a county board can take to represent their constituents’ wishes to protect their 2nd Amendment rights.
  • The Sheriff's ability to enforce the law will not be impacted since this is a non-binding resolution.

Your Very Truely,

Richard A. Pearson
Executive Director
