Last month, we were proud to welcome Tom McCullagh, White House Correspondent, as our guest speaker. We appreciate everyone who attended and helped
make it a strong evening of discussion and fellowship.
This month, our featured speakers will be Bob Hussey and Lynn Berndt.
Bob and Lynn are both ISRA members and members of the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial Squad. They serve in a solemn and important role, honoring America’s veterans and their families through military memorial
services.
Their presentation will cover the duties of the Memorial Squad, the role of the honor guard, and the meaning behind the traditions used in veteran memorial services. They will also discuss the symbolism of ceremonial rifle volleys, the folds of the American flag, and the playing of Taps.
These traditions remind us of duty, sacrifice, service, and respect for those who
defended our nation.
We will also discuss current issues affecting Illinois gun owners, including firearm legislation, legal updates, and ISRA efforts to defend the Second Amendment.
