April 27, 2004 – The World War II Monument opened in Washington D.C. It is a fitting tribute to the 16 million Americans who served in the armed service during World War II and the millions more who supported them at home. If you
ever get a chance, you should visit the monument.
April 28, 1945 – Benito Mussolini is executed. Italian dictator, Benito Mussolini, “Il Duce,” who, after a series of military misadventures, became unpopular even among his fellow Fascists, was captured while trying to flee Italy and was executed on this day in 1945. Not everybody has a great day, everyday.
April 29,

April 30, 1945 – Adolf Hitler committed suicide in his bunker. Good riddance.
