We want to give you a quick update on HB4471, the so-called Glock Ban Bill, and House Committee Amendment
#1.
The subject matter hearing that was possibly going to be held on Wednesday, March 25, has been cancelled for this week. That means any members who may have already filled out witness slips will need to do so again when the bill is officially scheduled at a later date.
There has been a lot of talk online about witness slips and the need to file them right away. We want to be clear:
ISRA tries not to ask our members to take that step unless the bill is actually called and your action will count where it matters most. We respect your time, and we want to make sure our alerts are timely, accurate, and effective.
When HB4471 and HCA 1 are officially scheduled again, ISRA will put out another alert with clear instructions. At that time, we will ask members to fill out two witness slips — one opposing the original bill and
one opposing House Committee Amendment #1. Both should be marked “Record of Appearance Only,” and for “Representation,” please enter “Self.”
Please watch for our next alert in the near future.
Thank you for standing with the ISRA and for defending the rights of law-abiding Illinois gun owners.
Sincerely,
Illinois State Rifle Association
