Thursday Bulletin – March 27, 2025 Executive Director's Message Richard Pearson |
Lieutenant Colonel David Grossman at IGOLD, May 14, 2025 Lt. Col. Dave Grossman is an internationally recognized scholar, author, soldier, and speaker who is one of the world’s foremost experts in the
field of human aggression and the roots of violence and violent crime. A West Point psychology professor, Professor of Military Science, and an Army Ranger, Lt. Col. Dave Grossman is also the author or co-author of five non-fiction and four fiction books and has co-authored a New York Times best-selling book with Glenn Beck. His books sell world-wide, translated into numerous
languages, and have been on required reading lists for the FBI academy, the US Marine Corps Commandant’s Required Reading List and other academies and colleges. He has presented papers before the national conventions of the American Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association, the American Psychological Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and to over 100
different colleges and universities world wide, and has trained educators and law enforcement professionals, at the federal, state and regional level, in all 50 states and over a dozen foreign nations. Lt. Col. Grossman was also called to the White House to serve on President Trump’s Round Table on Violent Video Games, was an expert witness in numerous cases and has also testified before Congress on three occasions...and this is just a small portion of his impressive, extensive
resume. Needless to say, Lt. Col. Grossman's depth of knowledge is not only vast, but extremely relevant to the ongoing fight for our Second Amendment rights. His timely presentations are not to be missed! Make sure you save the date to hear him speak at this year's IGOLD on May 14, 2025 – you'll be glad you
did!
Upcoming Municipal Elections Tuesday, April 1 will be the municipal elections in Illinois. These elections are extremely important because this is from where the next round
of State Representatives and State Senators will emerge. It is very important that you review all candidates in these elections and vote for those who are pro-gun.

Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) TV Ad Asks Americans: Pledge To Defend Second Amendment In
its ongoing fight to protect the right to keep and bear arms, the Second Amendment Foundation is launching a new national television ad calling on Americans to pledge to defend the Second Amendment from gun grabbing groups and individuals who are trying to thwart President Donald Trump’s efforts to unravel Joe Biden’s attempt to erase
their rights. In its 60-second message, which will air multiple times on 19 different cable networks beginning next week, SAF warns of continuing attacks on Second Amendment rights. The Foundation tells the nation how gun-hating radical groups are doubling down in their attacks. The
new SAF advertisement will air on the following networks: Fox News, Fox Business, CNN, MSNBC, HLN, the Weather Channel, CNBC, Bloomberg, BBC America, One America News, the History Channel, TBN, American Heroes Channel, the Outdoor Channel, World Fishing, Game Show, RFD, Direct TV and DISH TV. The advertisement asks viewers to call > 800-699-0992 and press #1 < to make their pledge to defend the Second Amendment. “Every American who joins this fight,” SAF Founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb said, “helps us in our effort to win firearms freedom, one lawsuit at a time.” Please make the call today to support and defend our Second Amendment rights.
Don't Count On The Police To Protect You For a long time, I have been reminding everyone that you have to depend on yourself for your own defense. You can't depend on the police or anyone else to
do it for you. Before I go any further, I want to remind everybody that the courts have ruled that the police have no duty to protect anyone. A recent incident in Miami, Florida, reiterates this point. In Miami, a group of bicyclists attacked a person in a car, breaking the windshield, jumping on the hood and using a bike to puncture tires and break windows, all while a Miami
police officer sat and watched from her car. She did nothing to help the motorist until other officers arrived. The motorist could have been dead by the time the other officers arrived. The gun control crackpots say we will just call the police when we need them. This incident shows how much good that will do you in an emergency situation. It is up to you do be
prepared.
Rare Trophies in Mississippi In Mississippi, a hunter bagged a very rare albino turkey on opening day. I am somewhat familiar with albino deer but this is the first albino turkey I have ever
seen. Also in Mississippi, a young lady got a silver-colored turkey. I have never heard of one of these either. I think something is going on in Mississippi.
A Friend At The ATF Robert Lieder has been appointed as the Chief Legal Counsel of the ATF. Mr. Lieder is a pro Second Amendment attorney who worked at George Mason University in the Antonin Scalia
Law School. He was clerk for Associate Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. Mr. Lieder has written articles supporting our case, Harrel v. Raoul, and opposing the position of the State of Illinois. This certainly is a breath of fresh air.

The Illinois State Rifle Association is the home of marksmanship in Illinois
Tidbits March 27, 1939 – The NCAA crowned it's very first “March Madness” champion. The University of Oregon defeated Ohio State. March 28, 1979 – The nuclear reactor at 3Mile Island malfunctioned and the core heats up to 4000°, which is 1000° short of meltdown. There really wasn't anything wrong
with the reactor. There was a lot of things wrong with the people reading the gauges and contradictory information. Nuclear energy continues, and should be in the future, a great source of power for the United States and around the world. March 28, 1915 – The first American citizen is killed in World War I. Leon Thrasher, and
American mining engineer, is killed when the British steamship, Falaba, is torpedoed by the German submarine U-28. March 30, 1939 – Batman debuted as a superhero character in DC Comics, issue 27. As time passed, Batman gained more and more “toys” to play with, such as the “Bat Gyro”, the one-man helicopter, the Bat Plane and the Bat
Boomerang. By the way, if you are looking through your great grandparents' closet and come up with the first issue featuring Batman, it is worth $1,875,000. At least that is what the last one went for at auction. March 30, 1775 – King George III formally endorsed the New England Restraining Act. This act required New England to only
trade with Great Britain. Because the colonists could only trade with Great Britain, the British were free to levy any tax they wanted upon them. Additionally, it forbade New England colonists from fishing in the North Atlantic. This hardship cost New England fishermen dearly, driving up the costs of their livelihoods and the availability of fish for the colonies. We will just have to see about this King George. We will see you on April 19, 1775. April 1, 1789 – The United States House of Representatives elects the first Speaker. The first Speaker of the United States House of Representatives was Frederick Augustus Conrad Muhlenberg. He was a Lutheran minister and, obviously, of German descent. It is April Fools' Day. By the way, you have two different shoes on. April 2, 1917 – President Woodrow Wilson asked for a declaration of war against Germany. “It is a fearful thing”, Wilson lamented, “but it had to be done.” He recalled the “Zimmerman Telegram” that was employed to help Mexico regain
Texas, New Mexico and Arizona, plus the incursions into Columbus, New Mexico, by hundreds of Mexican soldiers and revolutionaries. That, and the constant border tensions, were all part of President Wilson's reasoning in favor of a declaration of war. The United States Army would initially send 200,000 men, expanding the numbers to 4 million men by the end of World War I.
