Mourning Lorraine Darnall

“In the early morning hours of September 10, 2024, the world lost a great person. There wasn’t anything Lorraine couldn't do: she did our graphic design work, oversaw our print materials and maintained our inventory of ISRA hats and t-shirts – and whatever else we needed. She was always there.

Lorraine was also a loyal and dedicated volunteer – working gun shows and other special events including fundraisers and dinners as well as Sparta during the National Shotgun Championships. She did it all with so much passion because she loved the ISRA – and we loved her.

Lorraine and her husband David are Benefactor Members of the ISRA – but more importantly – they are true friends of mine and Genee’s.

Lorraine B. Darnall Obituary

HEYWORTH – Our beloved Lorraine Darnall left us before dawn, Tuesday, September 10. Lorraine’s sudden departure has left a gaping hole in the hearts of her family and friends, who loved and adored her so much.

She was a beautiful, compassionate, resilient and intelligent woman whose curiosity and compassion knew no bounds. Lorraine was proud co-owner of Darnall Printing in Bloomington, which she and her husband David owned for nearly forty years. Lorraine was a tender and affectionate wife, mother and grandmother, who raised her children to be curious, conscientious, confident, and self-sufficient.

Lorraine was also a talented artist, equestrian and outdoorswoman, who enjoyed many hobbies and pastimes including cartography, sign making, reading, sport shooting, and hiking with her daughter and husband.

Although we struggle to continue this life’s journey without her, we are comforted by the fact that Lorraine touched the hearts of so many. Your outpouring of affection for her and our family will help us to carry on.
