Permits on All Gun Purchases We have been getting a number of calls on HB 3239. HB 3239 is an onerous bill that both attacks and seeks to limit your gun rights in a variety of ways. For example, this bill creates a new permitting system which requires local law-enforcement agencies to issue a permit prior to purchasing a firearm. Secondly, it requires fingerprinting of FOID card holders. Third, it
requires 8 hours of hand-gun training on any firearm, or any type for any FOID application or renewal. Fourth, it requires local law enforcement to keep a registry of permits and make them available to the Illinois State Police. And lastly, it gives local law enforcement the ability to deny a permit at their discretion in the address of public safety, which creates a “MAY issue” permitting scheme, which was declared unconstitutional under Bruen. HB 3239 is sponsored by the notorious anti-gun Illinois State Representative Maura Hirschauer, a Democrat from West Chicago. This bill is supported by Students Demand Action of Illinois, an organization financed by New York City billionaire Michael Bloomberg. This bill is an example of a ‘cabal’ of legislators, front groups and billionaires’ money trying to crush the Second Amendment in
Illinois, and every other state for that matter. This bill is also one of many examples of why law-abiding gun owners should attend IGOLD on April 18, 2024. The ISRA is working hard to crush this bill. We need your support! Please donate at: https://isra.org/support-us/, or if you are not an ISRA member, join today. We think some other gun bills will move soon, but we don’t expect anything to happen until after the Illinois Primary Election. We don’t know which ones they will be, yet. We will send you an alert when we know which bills will be in committee and will be asking you to fill out witness slips on these bills. If you don’t know, or don’t remember how to fill out witness slips, go to: https://isra.org/legislation/ on the ISRA website, and scroll to the bottom of the Legislative page to watch our tutorial.
Joe Biden to Use Illinois as a Model for National Gun Ban? Not so Fast... Executive Director Richard Pearson Discusses Joe Biden's plans to use Illinois' unconstitutional ban on common firearms as a model for a national ban. "I've done it once, and
I'll do it again" – Not while the ISRA is still standing and fighting for the rights of all citizens.
Armed Robber Killed, Armed Citizen Wounded in Chicago A 60-year-old man was confronted outside his home around 5:30 am last Friday morning by an armed suspect who demanded the victim hand over his belongings. Instead, the homeowner chose to
fight back because he had the means to defend his own life. The victim, who is a valid FOID and CCL holder, pulled out his gun and shot the suspect several times throughout the body, but not without taking bullets himself, in his back and his arm. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition. The suspect was transported to the same hospital where
he was pronounced dead on arrival. While a concealed carry license isn't a suit of armor or a guarantee that you'll be unscathed in an encounter with an armed robber or car jacker, lawfully carrying a firearm at least gives you a fighting chance to defend yourself and live another day. We all must remember that when you are confronted by a criminal armed, or not, the only people
there are you and the criminal. No one is coming to save you; you have to defend yourself. Iowa House Passes $3 Million Bill to Arm & Train Teachers The truth is, that the best way to stop a school massacre, is for there to be people with guns in the school to prevent it. That means School
Resource Officers as well as staff should all be armed, and through training earn a professional permit to carry guns on school grounds. A portion of the funds could also be used to buy guns for school employees. Feds Spy on Pro-Gun Citizens Best to use cash to purchase firearms and
ammunition. A special House Judiciary subcommittee has issued an alarming report that alleges federal law enforcement “commandeered financial institutions to spy on Americans” and used Merchant Category Codes (MCCs) “to search through transactions to detect potential criminals or ‘extremists.’” Americans exercising their Second Amendment rights while shopping at well-known
retailers such as ‘Cabela’s,’ ‘Bass Pro Shop,’ and ‘Dick’s Sporting Goods’, were being tracked by financial institutions and federal law enforcement”, the report claims. Iconic Remington Arms Closing & Auction Remington has announced their complete closure of their site in Ilion, New York. They are
auctioning the gun-making machinery. The online auction ends March 27. The CZ 457 Jaguar Rifle CZ Firearms has introduced a long barreled .22 caliber rifle. The barrel is 285/8 inches, making it one the longest barrels made for .22’s. I had a model 67 – .22 caliber single-shot Winchester rifle
with a 27-inch barrel. It was one of the most enjoyable rifles I ever shot. The CZ 457 is a bolt action, box magazine-fed .22 rifle. This is a very accurate rifle. In tests, the rifle shoots under a one-half inch group, at 50 yards. It should be a real pleasure to shoot. Just remember, in long barreled rifles you should not use sub-sonic ammunition
because the bullet might get stuck in the barrel. The maximum for sub-sonic.22 ammunition is a 24-inch barrel, but shorter barrel lengths work even better. The open sights on the CZ 457 Jaguar can be adjusted out to 200 yards. If I was a ground squirrel or other type of varmint, I would run for cover!

Born. Einstein had a lot of trouble in school until he discovered mathematics. March 15, 1968 – America’s Highest Tunnel. Work on the Eisenhower Tunnel began on this date. The tunnel has an elevation of more than 11,000 feet. Before the tunnel was built, the trip through that area was very scary. I drove over the old road before the tunnel was
built. You could look down and see cars and trucks wrecked at the bottom of the canyons! The Eisenhower tunnel is on route 70, west of Denver, Colorado. March 15, 44 BC – Emperor Julius Caesar Assassinated. Sixty conspirators stabbed him to death in the Roman Senate. March 15, 1937 – The First Blood Bank Established in Chicago, Illinois. March 16, 1802 – West Point Becomes America’s First Military Academy. The academy was reorganized in 1816 by superintendent Sylvanus Thayer—later known as the “father of West Point”—and it became one of the nation’s finest schools for civil

In the year 433, he was ordained priest and began converting the Irish to Christianity. The anniversary of his death has become known at St. Patrick’s Day and celebrated by the Irish around
the world. A number of people become Irish for one day to join in on the celebration. Corned beef and cabbage for all! March 18, 1931 – First Electric Razor. The Schick Razor company introduced the electric razor. It was patented on May 13, 1930. March 19, 1831 – America’s First Bank Robbery Occurred.
